Spring College Information Night
LPHS and PRHS counselors will host the School District #38 spring College Night Program at PRHS on Tuesday, February 16, from 6-8 p.m., beginning in the auditorium.  This program is primarily for juniors and their parents, but sophomores and freshmen are welcome to attend.  Workshop sessions will include Naviance, NCAA, financial aid, selective and in-state colleges, recommendation letters, essays, and college visits, and ACT and SAT exams and pre-tests (EXPLORE, PLAN, and PSAT).

New Students to Palmer Ridge
Welcome! Students and parents new to Lewis-Palmer School District 38 must first enroll at our administration office at 146 Jefferson Street. That number is (719) 488-4700. Once the necessary paperwork has been completed and the student has been enrolled, please call to set up an appointment with a counselor to get a student schedule.

PRHS Counseling
 
Palmer Ridge High School Counselors offer comprehensive developmental guidance and counseling to all students enrolled at PRHS. Counselors are located in the Administration area of the Faculty Neighborhoods and for the 2008-2009 school year and students have been assigned to a counselor based upon their Grade-Level. Counselors at Palmer Ridge High School possess Master’s level education and are Licensed Professionals within the field of Educational Counseling.
           
Parents are requested to contact the appropriate Neighborhood Secretary for all attendance issues that may arise during the school year.
           
The following services are some of those included in the total guidance and counseling program.
  • Individual Counseling- the student is encouraged to seek counseling assistance when educational or personal concerns arise.
  • Group Counseling - with parental approval, identified students may be involved in group counseling.
  • Classroom Career Development instruction

  • appreciating the fact that people are different
  • helping you discuss alternatives, make choices, and accept consequences on personal matters
Counseling Is Not:
  • telling you what to do
  • solving problems for you
  • making choices for you
  • punishing or disciplining you
  • analyzing you
  • being a substitute teacher, an administrator, a clerk or an evaluator
